Flowers Rust (2009)
This album is comprised of material from 2006 through 2009, and came to follow a concept I envisioned in 2005. This idea developed around a "web" of media that revolved around similar themes: A world being corrupted and controlled by an outside force, an individual realizing this intrusion and striving to correct it, an external struggle mirroring the internal psychological struggle, and the healing powers of compassion. This ties together such disparate sources as Philip K. Dick's Radio Free Albemuth, Leslie Marmon Silko's Ceremony, Haruki Murakami's The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, the anime Haibane Renmei, and the indie video game Eversion. The four-part track "Beyond the Zero" ties this in with a dream I had during the same period, which had a profound synchronicity with this same concept.
